The weekday daily trips in the table above, as well as in the following tables, are expressed in vehicle trips per day, i.e.: the 24 hour two-way driveway volume. The peak hour volumes are expressed in vehicle trips per hour. It should be noted that the trips presented for the retail component are the total driveway trips, and do not reflect the actual new trips that the retail space would generate on the existing roadways serving the project area. As much as 35% of the traffic generated by retailers is traffic that is attracted to the site from existing traffic already on the roadways passing by the site, thus the actual number of new trips that will be generated by the retail component for all of the Phase I alternatives will be less than presented herein.
